Smart Computing for Science and Society is a new specialisation of the master's in Computer Science.
It will be offered as of September 2014 and is a combination of the current Core Computer Technologies en Computer Science Theory and Advanced Technologies specialisations. The technical areas covered within our master include the following: *Foundations and Formal Methods *Intelligent Algorithms *Software Development and Engineering *Multimedia Systems *Embedded Systems *Project & Innovation Management Reasons to Choose Computer Science in Leiden 1.The programme offers stimulating, significant and innovative research in the field of Computer Science 2.Research at the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) has an excellent international reputation. 3.The strength of the programmes is the individual approach: an individually tailored programme will be designed for each student. 4.The researchers and assistants are easily accessible. Students and staff work closely together in a research-oriented environment. 5.Students with an MSc in Computer Science are admissible to a PhD programme. 6.It provides students with a thorough computer science background that will allow them to pursue careers in research or industrial environments.
