In this specialisation you will gain in-depth knowledge about how linguistic structures from languages spoken around the world differ vastly from our familiar Indo-European languages.
This one-year programme is taught by experts who regularly carry out research in Africa, Asia and the Americas, which enables you to benefit from their relevant expertise. You will experience how the languages studied overturn general ideas about language universals. Also, you will learn how to compare and evaluate key research directions in descriptive linguistics. This will equip you with the insights and skills required to carry out independent research, giving you a solid basis for further studies.
