Would you like to learn how organisations work? Do you want to know how to make the right investment decisions and how to create as much value for the company as possible?
The one-year Master's programme in Business Economics teaches you how to make the right organisational and financial decisions for organisations. This specialised programme is meant for students who want to focus on organisational and financing issues, using a quantitative and analytical approach. The Faculty of Economics and Business is one of the few economics faculties in Europe offering a specialisation in Organisation Economics. This track of the MSc in Business Economics examines the economic performance of organisations in broad terms by looking at staff motivation, allocation of decision making powers, investment decisions, corporate governance and corporate functioning in various types of markets.
The Master of Science in Business Economics is a one-year programme. The curriculum yields 60 ECTS credits (1 ECTS credit = ½ US credit). The academic year runs from September to July and is divided into two semesters, each with three blocks. Each block will be rounded off with an examination. The Business Economics programme offers three specialisations:

Upon successful completion of the programme, students receive a Master's degree in Business Economics and the title Master of Science (MSc).
Finance
The Finance specialisation concentrates on the workings of financial markets, the financial and economic management of organisations and the use of financial tools by companies and investors. The academic programme is built around specialised modules on commercial banking, corporate finance, investment theory, managing bond portfolio risks, financial markets, international finance and other relevant topics.
Organisation Economics
Organisation Economics examines the economic performance of organisations in broad terms, including staff motivation, allocation of decision-making powers, investment decisions, corporate governance and corporate functioning in various types of markets. The course in Economics of Organisation and Management forms the foundation of this specialisation. The Amsterdam Business School is one of the few economics schools in Europe offering a specialisation in Organisation Economics.
Real Estate Finance
The Real Estate Finance specialisation is designed to provide advanced knowledge and training in the financial and economic aspects of commercial real estate. Real estate is a specialist discipline, covering the development, financing and operation of real estate. This specialisation links academic scholarship to industrial practice, thanks to the University's collaboration with industry.
