Design

The Master of Design has a broad approach to design that emphasises the relevance and importance of design within contemporary society. The programme is founded on an industrial design tradition and promotes design that actively shapes our society, industry, organisations and daily life.

At master's level students may specialize within interaction design, service design or industrial design. Systems oriented design methods are included in the programme. The programme reflects the rapidly emerging fields of design that respond to sicietal chanllenges, new technologies and increased complexity. It applies research-based teaching, which enables the students to take active part in the school's research activites. Indutry partnerships are also an integral part of the programme.

5,5 years (11 semesters) one-cycle master's program. Entrance to the first three years of study (undergraduate level) will normally not be possible for foreign applicants as a good knowledge of Norwegian or any of the other Scandinavian languages is required. International students can apply for master's level admission directly into the 4th year.

Bachelor's degree (or similar) in design.Satisfactory English skills must be documented through TOEFL- or IELTS-test, or CAE/CPE.Digital portfolio.Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of both formal requirements and the level and potential showed in the portfolio.

No tuition fees. Excursions are not subsidized by AHO. Students pay for their own material.
