Economics examines how economic activity (production, consumption, and trade of goods and services) is organized, how individuals and societies structure economic activity, and the relative effectiveness of different institutions in managing scarcity. Economists ask questions such as what gets produced, how is it produced, and who gets what is produced.

As an Economics student, you'll study the logic of human choice under conditions of scarcity, and examine the social institutions that determine how scarce resources are used. You'll gain a theoretical framework to explain choices and behaviour that can also be successfully applied to other areas of study, including politics, law, history, and education.
