Description
This programme would appeal to students who wish to acquire the knowledge of economics and the linguistic skills of a foreign language. Students achieve a strong grounding in economic principles and also acquire fluency in French, Spanish or Italian. In addition, students on this programme are encouraged to apply to participate in overseas exchanges with our Erasmus partners.
The programme has pathways leading to specific endorsed titles: BA Economics with Language (French); BA Economics with Language (Italian); BA Economics with Language (Spanish).
The aims of the programme are:
- To provide a firm foundation of knowledge about the workings of the economy, the interaction of economic systems at the global level and to develop the skills for the constructive use, and clear communication of, that knowledge in a range of settings
- To provide knowledge of the mathematical and statistical methods needed for economic and business analysis and to train students in accessing and analysing economic data
- To enable students to acquire language fluency.

Direct entry to Year 2 and 3 is available for qualified applicants.
