Course Content

The use of electricity in the field of electrical and electronic engineering encompasses a wide range of technical applications within industry, commerce and around the home. This course develops and applies an understanding of the science, engineering principles and associated technology in the area of electrical and electronic engineering and youll take part in modules such as Engineering Design and Science, as well as core modules such as Electrical and Electronic Principles.

The course also includes Business Management for Engineers a module on Managing People in Engineering which will introduce you to industrial and commercial practice, as well as encourage you to develop your Business and Management skills alongside your Engineering knowledge.

On completion of this course you will be well equipped with a good knowledge of electronics systems design techniques and their applications in areas such as control, telecommunications and consumer products.

This well-established national qualification is at an intermediate level and places academic theory and learning within a practical vocational context. You will be encouraged to broaden your personal understanding of Electric/Electronic Engineering and develop valuable transferable skills to really enhance your employment prospects.

You will study for approximately 20 hours per week and will receive three hours of English support as well as optional academic support sessions during your studies.

The qualification is recognised by the Engineering Council.
