Description

The course will be jointly delivered by BU and Bournemouth and Poole College, resulting in a BU award. Students currently studying foundation degrees (FdSc) in Engineering can progress onto this course to gain an MEng degree and CEng status.

The course offers entry to final year of the Bachelor degree, or direct entry to MEng, depending upon prior qualifications. You will study a number of core (compulsory) and option units. The option units are designed so that you may design your own course to meet the needs of your employer and Engineering Council UKSPEC, however, the award maintains the generic engineering title.

The course will be delivered predominately by distance (off-campus) learning with attendance required for block periods, typically on a Friday afternoon.

Entry to Level H: FdSc or HND with Merit in an Engineering discipline accredited to EngTech or partial IEng OR academic qualifications that have been approved at partial IEng/EngTech level through the IED Education and Training Committee or equivalent.

Entry to Level M: a second or first class Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline accredited to IEng OR academic qualifications that have been approved at IEng level through the IED Education and Training Committee or equivalent.
