Civil engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the human-made atmosphere, including buildings, bridges, roads, tunnels, dams and other large physiological structures. The class is intended to equip graduates with industry relevant skills across a full variety of heart civil engineering subject areas including surveying, soil mechanics, engineering geology, structural investigation and design, hydrology, and transport engineering, in addition to construction technology and site management. The program is targeted on the growth of knowledge and skills applicable to engineering training, and together with a sound theoretical base, it has strong elements of practical problem solvingteam work and project creation. As well as having multiple technical and technical skill competencies, graduates will acquire strong analytical skills, and also the ability to lead complex projects. The class provides a sound basis in mechanics, mathematics, and also the essentials of engineering design in the initial two decades of study, together with core areas of engineering science including materials and manufacturing, engineering drawing and computer aided design, foundational electrical engineering, and thermodynamics and fluid mechanics. At the last two decades of study, a range of specialist civil engineering topics are all covered to prepare students to enter their chosen profession with relevant expertise and skills. The first season of this class contains a group of eight units which can be common across all engineering honours classes. This enables students the chance to come up with a better understanding of the a variety of engineering areas on offer and also the flexibility, so if desirable, to modify to some other engineering discipline/course without penalty after the first year of study.

University entry requirements apply. All applicants need to possess Mathematics: Methods ATAR, with equivalents believed, and Physics ATAR or Engineering Studies ATAR, with equivalents considered. It's desirable that candidates possess Mathematics: Specialist ATAR, with equivalents considered.
