This course incorporates the fields of network technology, software engineering, electronics and information technology. Students may explore a broad variety of specialised subject areas and will learn coding strategies and secrets permitting them to become adept in writing, reading and developing code at all levels. Students will: Acquire in-depth wisdom and skills on the design, implementation and development of a variety of software-based systems over many different communicating system infrastructures; be able to learn, write and engineer innovative software solutions at all levels; attain technical skills in data communications and media, mobile and wireless communications, network security, and also the networked software and services pertaining to cloud computing, big multimedia and data; design, execute and operate communicating networks along with their associated services and software; and apply cross cutting skills to the design and direction of both networked endeavors in a broad range of sectors.

Admission to this course is based on an entrance rank. A rank can be achieved by means of a year 1-2 ATAR, other Australian eligibility, work experience, or an international qualification.
