Instrumentation automation and control technology could be the integration of electrical, electronic and computing engineering with control engineering. This integrated discipline includes the evolution of intelligent systems to automate processing, monitoring, and production in different technology businesses. The training course is designed to give graduates with a strong background to enter a range of career pathways related to control and automation application from the mining and mineral processing, oil and gas, and agriculture businesses which are strongly represented at the economy of Western Australia.Graduates of this class will probably be recognizable in electrical and electronic technology; have specialist skills in design, creation and management of high level automation and control systems; and have the capability to take part in, and guide, complex multidisciplinary projects. The program focuses on the growth of knowledge and techniques pertinent to professional engineering practice along side a sound theoretical base, also includes strong elements of practical problem solvingteam work and project development. As a result, graduates will have strong analytical skills, as well as multiple technical and technical competencies. The course covers issues in process control algorithms, computer programmer and communications of both industrial controls, as well as computer automation, including the employment of PLCs, SCADA, and PC-based systems to control processes and systems. Topics like high level PLC control and SCADA systems, and manufacturing performance systems have been introduced at the years of their program, after students have gained proficiency in the idea of modern control and dynamic systems. The first year with this course involves a pair of eight units that are common across all engineering honours courses. This allows students the opportunity to develop a better understanding of the a variety of engineering areas on offer and the flexibility, so if desirable, to change to another technology discipline/course without punishment following the first year of analysis.

University entry requirements apply. All applicants are required to have Mathematics: Procedures ATAR, together with equivalents considered, and Profession ATAR or Engineering Studies ATAR, using equivalents considered.
