This course is offered to engineering technologists wishing to upgrade their qualifications within specific areas of engineering:

* Chemical Engineering
* Civil Engineering
* Electrical and Electronics Engineering
* Mechanical Engineering

The course combines coursework and project work to provide interest and challenge to students. In addition to the technical knowledge expected in a postgraduate course, there is an emphasis on the themes of sustainability, creativity, teamwork, design and leadership throughout the program.

The course includes a 12-week work experience component, which ensures graduates are job-ready and familiar with engineering employment opportunities.

All applicants must indicate their area of specialisation by selecting a stream from the list provided.

The course consists of five core engineering units, six specialist engineering units in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, two thesis units, two system design units and one elective unit.

This course is available externally by distance learning for those who are not able to attend classes on campus on a regular basis. Distance learning requires reliable broadband internet access and on campus attendance at residential sessions for one week per semester of full-time study.

Successful completion of a recognised Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering Science, Bachelor of Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Technology or equivalent in Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or an approved equivalent discipline.
