If you are seeking to become a training professional in the engineering sector, USQ’s unique Bachelor of Engineering Science and Bachelor of Vocational Education & Training will immerse you in engineering and adult education, growing your expertise in both disciplines simultaneously.

Professional relevance

Our Engineering and Education program have been developed with extensive input from leading experts in both industries. A key component of your degree is the 45 days practical engineering industry experience and 100 hours of practical experience in a vocational education & training environment. Most trainers will complete their training professional experience placements in their current workplaces with nominated supervisors.

Within this degree you are able to specialise in one of three Engineering majors:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering.

Recognition of industry experience and previous study

If you currently work as an adult workplace and vocational education trainer in, you may be eligible to receive credit towards some of your degree. You may also be eligible for further credit if you have completed an Associate Degree, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Engineering within the last 5 years.

Practical experience

In addition to the courses listed below, you will also need to complete practical experience, where interactive hands-on activities, such as experiments and use of specialist equipment, are undertaken.

Residential schools

In addition to the courses listed below, external students will also have the opportunity to come on-campus for face-to-face lectures and tutorials, use the facilities and to meet staff and other students.
