The Engineering: Transfer Associate degree program at Harrisburg Area Community College is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in engineering principles, mathematics, and sciences, serving as a pathway to a four-year university for those aspiring to pursue a bachelor's degree in various engineering disciplines. This program offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes courses in engineering fundamentals, physics, calculus, chemistry, and computer-aided design, ensuring students develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for success in the engineering field. Throughout the program, students engage in hands-on laboratories and collaborative projects that emphasize problem-solving, critical thinking, and innovation, preparing them to transition seamlessly to the next level of higher education. The associate degree is ideal for students seeking a flexible start to their engineering education, allowing them to complete two years of coursework at Harrisburg Area Community College before transferring to a four-year institution such as Penn State or other partner universities. The program also emphasizes critical transferable skills, including technical communication, teamwork, and ethical considerations in engineering practices. With access to modern laboratories and experienced faculty, students benefit from a supportive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and professional growth. Graduates of this program are well-prepared to continue their studies in engineering-related fields or to enter the workforce with a solid technical background. The program's design aligns with industry standards and university requirements, ensuring that students gain the relevant knowledge and skills needed for a successful career or further academic pursuit in engineering.
