Description

Study programme is carried out by two cooperating universities and the graduates are presented two diplomas: Bachelor in Fashion Design (BA Honours) diploma issued by University of Central Lancashire and Bachelor in Fashion Design diploma issued by Vytautas Magnus University.

Study programme encompasses practical, analytic and technological aspects of fashion design. Students are introduced to all methods of the process of garment production from the research and idea development to illustration, modeling, cutting, sewing and presenting. The courses will be delivered by practitioners and theorists coming from various creative fields. All the lecturers have solid professional experience and innovative thinking, which will make your studies interesting and valuable.

Competencies Acquired

Graduates will be able:

  • To create garments and fashion collections with reference to theory and practice in this area;
  • To employ an experimental approach to use of media and new technologies at all processes of fashion design production;
  • To demonstrate the ability to critically analyse and evaluate collections;
  • To recognise an in depth understanding of the influence of theory underpinning practice through evidencing a range of research bases;
  • To apply the principles of effective teamwork within a disciplined and professional environment;
  • Administrate the processes within project development and its implementation;
  • To evaluate and contextualise their creative output and working processes.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of Fashion Design programme will be able:

  • To pursue studies in Master’s programmes in Arts and Art History and Criticism;
  • To create unique fashion collections and to work with private clients;
  • To work as Fashion Designer at the internationally based companies;
  • To work as stylist at the mass media production (photo sessions, TV industry, etc.);
  • To create their own business and brand.

Required Documents:

  • Application form;
  • OriginalHigh School degree diploma and translation into English, and:

a) Approved by “Appostille” – for citizens of countries acceding to the 1961 Hague Convention;

b) Legalized by the Centre of Quality Assessment in Higher Education (www.skvc.lt) in Lithuania – for other countries citizens;

  • Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTC, etc.);
  • Copy of passport or other document of identification;
  • 1 recent passport size photos (3 x 4 cm);
  • Copy of document showing paid application fee 50 EUR;
  • Letter of motivation (300 – 500 words);
  • Curriculum vitae;
  • E-portfolio (CD of DVD of his/her recent work);
  • Accommodation form.
