The Film and TV Production Management program at Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University offers students a comprehensive education in the essential aspects of managing film and television projects from conception to final delivery. Designed for aspiring producers, project managers, and industry professionals, the program equips learners with practical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary to succeed in the competitive media production landscape. Throughout the course, students explore core subjects such as media project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource management, as well as legal and contractual issues pertinent to film and television production. Emphasizing hands-on experience, the program includes workshops, case studies, and real-world projects that simulate industry scenarios, enabling students to develop problem-solving abilities and leadership qualities. Additionally, the curriculum covers topics like script development, studio and location shooting logistics, post-production workflows, distribution strategies, and marketing practices specific to film and TV content. Students also learn about the cultural and economic contexts of media production, fostering an understanding of international markets and audience engagement. The program benefits from experienced faculty members with extensive industry backgrounds, and partnerships with local and international media companies provide valuable internships and networking opportunities. The studies last three years, 6 semesters, end with a diploma exam and the defence of a BA thesis. For each semester, the student should receive 30 ECTS points. The study program includes the following modules: basic knowledge, specific knowledge and practical skills. The students have the opportunity to choose some of the subjects. A group of practical subjects includes TV Production I and II workshops as well as Film Production I and II workshops. Workshops and tutorials are run by practitioners from the film and television industry. The program also includes a mandatory 3-month practice (Vocational Training Practice).

– graduation from the Dept. of English or Applied Linguistics
– graduation from a foreign language teacher training college
– completion of academic education abroad – with English as the official language of instruction
AFMKU is investing significant resources in internationalisation and successively extending foreign linkages. Students, who do not speak Polish can find an attractive alternative in programmes that are conducted in English.

The course offers students the possibility to gain practical skills.
The classes will be run by Film and TV practitioners – working among others for TVN, Krakow Film Foundation, Krakow Festival Office (KBF) as well as independent producers.
The workshops will be held in the Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University Film and TV Studio, which is professionally equipped. Students will benefit from the practical advice of the studio team: journalists, camera operators, sound engineers, editors, studio engineers. Students also have access to well solving complex business problems.
