Being an RMIT Food Technology and Nutrition student you will find out about the science of large-scale food manufacturing as you develop publication, healthy and functional food products that meet consumer demand and comply with government and industry health and safety instructions. The first three semesters are common to both streams you need to comprise studies in nutrition, food industry, food microbiology, food allergensand food chemistry and science. At the next year of this level you will choose both food technology or nourishment flow. At RMIT's Bundoora campus you will have access to state-of-the art centers such as a product development laboratory; a fully-equipped, computerised sensory and consumer testing suite; food processing pilot plant and also a food analysis and characterisation laboratory. You may graduate as a qualified scientist who can operate effectively in every area regarding the preservation and processing of all foods.

Graduates of both streams are eligible for Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology (AIFST) membership. Nutrition flow graduates can also qualify to submit an application for enrollment as a nutritionist with the Nutrition Society of Australia.

Current Year 12 requirements units 3 and 4-a analysis score of at least 20 in mathematics (any) and a study score of at least 25 in any English (except EAL) or at least 30 in English (EAL).
