The course is aimed at individuals who wish to acquire an in-depth knowledge of clinical psychology in order to enhance their application to training programmes to qualify as a clinical psychologist. Whilst a place on a training programme is not guaranteed, graduates are likely to have richer applications.

In addition to the theoretical component of the programme, the 15-day placement experience allows the student to gain more than an insight into the working practice of clinical psychology. Two dissertations require the student to reflect on experience gained on placement and also to complete a thorough an critical literature review in the area of specialism.

Graduates of the programme may choose to take a career path in pychological research. The School is active in research and enterprise and has a well established base in Psychology. There is an active research and publications arena within the group and links within the wider school and university are encouraged.

Please note that if undertaking a placement, a CRB check must be undertaken, for which a charge applies.
