This offering focusses on the integration of spatial data visualisation/analysis and health in health care. Students may also study concepts of biostatistics and epidemiology demanded for spatial data analysis. Students will then expand and apply this instruction, utilising common large data sets. In the end, students will develop a work-relevant research question, and a strategy to tackle this question. Students will then execute this scientific study and report the results. This offering distinguishes itself from the majority of GIS-related offerings with its clear focus on the interaction of plasma, epidemiological and statistical methods, and health behaviours / outcomes. This offering is distinguishable from the not many other, health oriented classes already in the market place via its delivery arrangement (block intensive instruction and self-paced consolidation) and Graduate Certification degree of access.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Admission for this course is competitive. Software will be evaluated based on academic merit and also the number of available places.
