New students can begin courses in the fall, spring, or summer terms. The HROD Admissions Committee requires the following materials to make a decision about admission: * Graduate School Application: Complete application for admission to the Graduate School at University of Louisville. * $60.00 Application Fee: check or money order made payable to the University of Louisville. * Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work * Unconditional admission requires a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 for all coursework taken. * Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to the applicants academic or professional capabilities. * If you have studied at a college or university in the last five years, the admissions committee prefers to see at least one letter from a faculty member. Other references can include work supervisors. Personal references (e.g. family, friends) are not accepted. * Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test score (for some applicants): * Applicants are not required to provide GRE scores if they have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the last 60 hours of undergraduate work or if they possess a terminal degree (e.g., M.D., D.D.S., and Ph.D.). * Applicants must submit GRE scores if they have an undergraduate GPA of less than 3.0 in the last 60 hours or no terminal degree. * GRE scores prior to August 1, 2011 must be a minimum of 800 (combined verbal and quantitative) for consideration for unconditional admission. * GRE scores under the current exam must be a minimum of 146 (verbal) and 140 (quantitative) for consideration for unconditional admission. * Goal Statement and Cover Sheet. Accreditation

The University of Louisville is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). SACS is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the southern states. The SACS Principles of Accreditation apply to all programs of the institution, regardless of mode of delivery.

A requirement for continued accreditation by SACS is that institutions must ensure that their distance and correspondence education courses and programs comply with the Principles of Accreditation. This applies to all educational programs and services, wherever located or however delivered. The university received reaffirmation of accreditation in 2007. The next review will take place in 2017.
