Humanities at Athabasca University is an interdisciplinary program that draws upon a variety of academic areas, including art history, classics, cultural studies, communications studies, history, literature, music, philosophy, and religious studies.Students completing the Humanities concentration will: possess good writing, critical thinking, and library research skills; evaluate information for its relevance and reliability; interpret historical and literary sources carefully and evaluate the interpretative perspectives contained therein; recognize the ways in which knowledge and the arts are socially constructed and sanctioned; articulate logical arguments based on relevant information.
