About the course
The MA Humanities combines both taught and tutorial based modules to help you to develop your own individual research while studying in groups. This enables you to follow your own research interests while benefiting from working with other postgraduate students.

Through the course you'll be introduced to different disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches to humanities scholarship so that you can utilise these concepts and methodologies within your own studies. During the MA you will produce a substantial piece ofresearch, and you'lll also develop transferable skills suitable for both further academic research and in the work place.

This course is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge relevant to a range of careers. It provides training in research methodologies for students who wish to progress on to an MPhil or PhD in a humanities discipline, and then follow either a research or academic career path. The course also encourages you to develop skills that are desired by employers in a number of industries including arts or public service administration, publishing, broadcasting, archival services and librarianship.

Coursework and an Independent Study of 20,000 words.
