Studying the Bachelor of Arts (Indonesian Language) will unlock the door to Australia’s closest neighbour, Indonesia. A major economic and political force, Indonesia is a key trading partner for Australia.
Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian Language) is considered one of the easier languages to master and enables you to communicate with a number of other countries including Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam. You will develop formal and informal communication skills in the language as well as understand grammar and language structures, and acquire a vocabulary of some 4,500 commonly used words. You will also develop skills for conversation, reading and writing, and you will learn about language and culture through contemporary Indonesian literature, popular newspapers and magazines.
You do not require any prior knowledge of the language to be eligible for this degree.
