Brief description of the program

The Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems and Cyber Security at Vilnius University provides students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills necessary for the modern digital world. This program is designed to equip future professionals with an in-depth understanding of information systems, cybersecurity principles, data protection, and network security. Students will explore the technical aspects of computer systems, programming, and software development, alongside critical areas such as cryptography, threat analysis, incident response, and security management. The curriculum combines theoretical foundations with hands-on practical training, enabling graduates to design, implement, and manage secure information systems effectively. Throughout the course of study, students will also gain insights into emerging technologies, legal and ethical issues related to cybersecurity, and the socio-economic impacts of information security breaches. The program emphasizes problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills, preparing graduates for a diverse range of roles in cybersecurity, IT consulting, system auditing, and more. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTION CRITERIA

• Matura (high school leaving) certificate;
• English language proficiency - the level not lower than B2 (following the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

State Funded Places for Bachelor Students

Citizens of countries of the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA), persons (non-EU/EEA) granted a right of permanent residence in the Republic of Lithuania, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the Diaspora and people of Lithuanian origin can apply for the State Funded Place in the programme.

Scholarships for Integrated Studies

A monthly scholarship is offered for the nationals of Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Georgia, Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Moldova, Japan, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, the State of Israel and foreign citizens of Lithuanian origin (10 grants altogether).

INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY

Graduates of this study programme will be able to work as experts, consultants and information systems security professionals in government organizations and business enterprises of various size; information systems analysts or architects, programmers, testers, database administrators, project managers in the field of Information Systems; information security analysts; security management professionals or managers and IT security auditors in organizations. Graduates will be able to develop their own business initiatives, provide consulting services or carry out a qualitative analysis of information systems’ design and management.
