There is strong industry requirement in conventional areas such as networks, enterprise and security platforms, as well as an increase in the need for specialists from the emerging fields of information science and also human-computer interaction. The course aims to prepare students to be used at a specialist IT field through a course of study that balances theoretical articles, project-based experiences and industry-oriented perspectives.

After successful certification by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) graduates will satisfy the knowledge requirements for membership of ACS at Professional level.
