Description

This degree program is offered on-line or on-campus. The program provides students a quality multi-disciplinary program of study that fulfills traditional university requirements and is designed to meet the student’s specific goal for a college degree. The degree is obtained through the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences' Office of Interdisciplinary Studies.

Working closely with an academic advisor, each student develops his/her program of study from four proficiency areas: communication, information literacy, problems solving/decision making, and community leadership. Students are encouraged to choose their own pace with the option of studying either full or part-time. New students are admitted to the program in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Students entering the program should minimally have 60 hours completed at an accredited college or university, including the general education curriculum, and must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.

Course Content

An Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BID) major gives students the freedom to design an academic program that addresses their interests. Each BID program is unique and designed to fit the needs, interests and passions of the students in the major. Your education should be tailored to you and your future!

Requirements

Students who have earned approximately 60 semester credit hours from a two- or four-year accredited institution, predominately in liberal arts/general education. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Please note that it is possible to be admitted into the program, while concurrently working on meeting the general education requirements.
