Description

The Interdisciplinary Studies major is designed for students with a personal and/or professional goal that cannot be met by an established major on campus. In addition to completing the core requirements and other graduation requirements at SDSU, the student must complete 40 credits of courses. An Interdisciplinary Studies major allows students to design a unique "plan of study" to fit their goals. For instance, a student interested in owning their own business may pursue coursework from consumer affairs, entrepreneurial studies, leadership and communications.
The "plan of study" is a minimum 40 credits mutually agreed upon by the student and the academic advisor. Twenty-four credits must be upper level (300-400) courses. The plan consists of courses selected from two or more discipline areas and may include both lower and upper division courses but not courses that are also being use to satisfy the general education core.
