The Master of International Education (School Leadership) has been designed for practicing educators wishing to enhance their leadership capacity within their professional setting. Graduates of this course bring a global perspective to teaching, learning and leading their educational organisation. They will be more capable to strengthen learning outcomes in their current professional setting and more confident to explore other contexts within which to practice. The course brings an international focus to local circumstances within educational organisations by:

* exploring school leadership issues through critical and in-depth reflection of theory, international experience and practice
* bringing findings from academic study and field experience to the systematic analysis of educational issues important to successful learning in schools and other educational and training organisations at the local level
* applying theoretical, intellectual and methodological tools to investigate local and global events and their impact on learning and education.

The course is recognised by international credentialing agencies. It responds to the professional needs of educators to anticipate issues, analyse responses from local and global perspectives and implement strategies which are principled, prudent and practical.

The course consists of 80 subject points. All subjects listed are 8 credit points unless otherwise stated.

Requirements for further study
If students wish to meet the requirements to proceed at a later stage to a Doctor of Philosophy program, they should complete and achieve at a very high level subjects in Educational Research Methodology and a Research Project subject, that is:
EER500 Introduction to Educational Research
EER501 Qualitative Research Methods
EER502 Quantitative Research Methods

It is also recommended that students undertake a major research project, that is:
ERP504 Research Thesis (24 subject points)
or
ERP502 Master of Education Project (16 subject points)

In order to apply for the Master of International Education (School Leadership), students must meet or exceed the following qualifications: * hold a Bachelor of Education from CSU or another recognised tertiary institution or * be a graduate from a Bachelor degree from a recognised university and hold a Graduate Diploma of Education, Postgraduate Certificate of Education, Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) or equivalent.
