This Masters programme is unique in its combination of theory and practice in the study of human resource management (HRM) within a global environment and builds on Henley Business School's reputation in the field of international business.

Emphasis is given to the understanding of both the discipline of HRM, the contextual environment in which organisations are increasingly operating and the management of multinational enterprises. You will develop a practical understanding of the range of challenges facing organisations in different environments, and at every level.

MSc International Human Resource Management provides a thorough grounding in the field of international business, as well as a specific focus upon the development of HRM into a strategic function and the growth of international HRM in recent years.

You will gain a comparative awareness of the various elements of HRM practice, including training and development; recruitment and selection; performance management and reward. You will also be equipped with a range of analysis and diagnostic tools to support your knowledge and understanding as well as having the opportunity to develop facilitation skills.

In addition to a strong grounding HRM and its background and strategic development, you will develop an awareness of how the field of international human resource management has developed in response to the increasingly globalised nature of our world. You will learn more about context and the challenges this poses for international managers and leaders as they strive to manage people. Optional modules examine areas including leadership and advanced business policy and comparative issues in international business.

You will complete a project in international human resource management as part of this programme. Projects are self-directed in their nature, but you will enjoy the chance to link with activities in the renowned Henley HR Centre of Excellence and possibly to gain project opportunities within a related organisation.
