This programme offers a unique blend of academic education in international relations and political science with practical graduate education and training in international negotiation and diplomacy.

This two-year MSc-programme is offered jointly by the Institute of Political Science of Leiden University and the prestigious Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael in The Hague. Clingendael's objective is to promote the understanding of international affairs, and the institute focuses specifically on European co-operation, international security, and diplomacy. You will take core courses in the fields of international relations and political science. In addition, you will gain specialised knowledge and hands-on experience in the area of diplomacy and international organisations, and insights into the practice of international negotiations and diplomacy. During the programme, you will have the opportunity to complete an internship at an international organisation or to take additional specialised courses.
