This class assesses the relationship of states, languages, cultures and systems of government over the global system. It develops students' capacity to analyse the historical development of relationships among nation states and contemporary political, social and cultural problems, such as globalisation, transnationalism and migration. International Studies allows students to combine studies from a range of field areas, for example Islamic and Asian Studies, cultural and social investigation, politics, history and philosophy, and modern languages from Arabic, Chinese, Indonesian or Japanese.
