Educational organisation

Every student in the ITIS programme is required to choose a research focus which best corresponds to the student's interests. This is the cornerstone for each student's personalised study programme.

The ITIS Master's programme requires a minimum of 120 credits to be earned over four semesters, consisting of the following parts:
  • Theoretical, practical and technical computer science modules
  • Business & Law and key competencies modules (total work load of these modules 40 credits minimum)
  • Research project and Master's thesis modules (with 80 credits)

Academic requirements

Applicants for the ITIS Master programme must have attained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) with at least 180 ECTS and a grade of 2.3 or higher. Applications are welcome even when the requisite degree has not yet been awarded at the time of application. However, successful applicants cannot enrol in the ITIS Master course until the requisite degree has been formally awarded.

Enrolment fees

Approx. 370 EUR per semester; fee includes a semester ticket which entitles you to free use of all public transport and regional trains in Hannover and the federal state of Lower Saxony.

Students should allow a minimum of 800 EUR per month for accommodation, food, health insurance, telephone and internet, books, leisure, and other expenses.
