Labour Studies is an interdisciplinary program which draws on history, sociology, political economy, women's studies, industrial relations, and other fields in assessing the place of labour and working people in society. The Athabasca University Labour Studies program is unique in Canada in that it is the only program of its kind in the country that is available entirely via distance education. Students will: be depended upon to successfully plan for and solve problems, and resolve issues, in an efficient and democratic manner; express themselves verbally in understandable, thorough ways, useful in labour-related settings; be polished and persuasive in writing in terms appropriate to the audience in labour-related organizations.Athabasca UniversityпПХs Labour Studies program is designed for students who want to know more about the position of labour and working people in society. It will be of particular interest to trade unionists at both the leadership and general membership levels.
