The Master of Legislation (Research) offers students the opportunity to undertake supervised research in the associated field of their choice. Candidates produce a variety of skills, including individual thinking, project managementand data analysis and critical thinking, in addition to refined communication skills. The program fosters the development of independent research capabilities, making it ideal preparation for individuals seeking to undertake additional research through a PhD system or pursue a career in research.

  • Conclusion of a three-year bachelor level at AQF level 7 (or equivalent) with a minimum average of 65% in the final year units of study. Other relevant experience may also be taken in to consideration in analyzing the application. English language requirements - international applicants must furnish proof one of these: 1 ). A minimum IELTS overall band of 6.5 (Academic Module) with no single band below 6.0 or a TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 7-9 (using a reading band at least 18 and writing band at least 20)
  • Or Pearson (PTE) 5-8 (no real skills less than 50) no more than 2-4 months before submitting your application
  • 2. Satisfactory completion of Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 higher level) with overall 70%, each of skills 65%
  • 3. Successful completion of a total of 2-4 months (full time equivalent) of formal study at which the language of education and assessment was Language at AQF level 7 or above (or equivalent) at a licensed university no more than 60 months before submitting your application. Note: A necessity for many courses, the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) can now be done online campus in Hawthorn.
