The Monash LLM is ideal for law graduates wanting to develop in-depth understanding of a particular legal field, or even people wanting to progress their professional expertise within a place of training. Students will acquire higher level skills and understanding of law enhancements, practice and scholarship of more areas of law. These specialisations are available: Commercial law; Dispute settlement; Authorities law and regulatory training; Human rights; Intellectual property and communications law; International and comparative law; Law and global development; Law studies; Workplace and labour law.
- Juris Doctor or a Bachelor Honours degree in lawenforcement, or equivalent
- Or a Bachelor degree in law (or equivalent), plus either a Graduate Diploma in Law, also a Graduate Certificate in Law, or an equivalent post graduate qualification
- Or a Bachelor degree in law (or equivalent), also adequate applicable work-based or other learning to together constitute the equivalent of one of the aforementioned mentioned qualifications
- Or a Bachelor degree in law (or equivalent), and entrance to practise within an Australian lawyer. Students are evaluated in their complete academic record, with a credit average (or equivalent) preferred. As a general rule, people that don't have a credit will need to have at least 2 decades of relevant work experience, even though mandatory period might be shorter at which the job experience has been supplemented by other relevant learning.
