This standalone Masters course will provide you with valuable insight into how the English legal system operates, with an emphasis on your chosen specialist legal area of Intellectual Property. This qualification will equip you with the practical skills to assist you in gaining employment within your specialist area in a legal or commercial capacity. If you are already working in these fields, our LLM will enhance your CV and help you take on a more senior role. 

Each course will deliver a Master's level insight into different aspects of your chosen specialist field. The programme will combine taught modules on key fundamental principles of English law, your chosen specialist area and related areas of the law, with a dissertation on an aspect of your specialist area of your own choice from a list of provided topics.

Each programme is completed in one year with all modules compulsory. All taught modules are worth 30 credits each and the dissertation is worth 40 credits. There is also a 20 credit self-study research methods module to help you get ready to write your dissertation.

UK entry requirements: Students should possess a UK bachelors degree in any subject at 2:2 or above or equivalent qualifications. 
While we accept applications from English law graduates, you are likely to repeat many themes from your undergraduate degree. We recommend that you consider the online version of this course in the first place which has been designed for those with a qualification in law. Graduates from The University of Law’s LLB programmes are not eligible for this course.
International entry requirements: An English language level equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or above, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.
