The high pressure of competition on today's predominant, deregulated and global markets only enables strategic competitive positions to prevail where product development, product supply and the acquisition process are conducted in accordance with economic criteria. Engineers and scientists who are responsible for processing in technology-oriented companies accordingly require an in-depth understanding of entrepreneurial concepts and approaches in addition to their expertise in their own particular subject. However, they also need to communicate with financial experts, marketing experts and controllers, who not only have a sound knowledge of business administration but are also thoroughly acquainted with scientific and engineering issues. It is only in this way that the dialogue between the different disciplines, which is of fundamental importance for any concerted effort to achieve a competitive edge, can take place. Technische Universität München wishes to accommodate this requisite with its " Management and Technology " course. Industry needs commercial experts who are not only familiar with economic affairs but are also well versed in technical matters, argumentation and decision-making structures. Executive positions, which are increasingly exposed to competition and change within the companies and markets concerned, call for a high level of technical/scientific competence. Only the "Management and Technology " course at TU München provides a first-class education in terms of the aforementioned criteria. It makes above-average academic demands on the students. All high-potential candidates who are looking for, and willing to face the strong challenges of a demanding degree course in business studies with a marked engineering and scientific relevance are welcome to apply.
