This qualification is suitable for people employed in entry level positions in the marine industry as a generalpurpose Hand deck or in the engine room of a boat upto 80 metres over the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) or in the engine room just for a boat with propulsion powerup to 3000 kW.Licensing/Regulatory InformationThis degree of eligibility is currently cited as meeting a number of the requirements for accreditation as a generalpurpose Hand Near Coastal as characterized by the National Standard for Commercial Vessels (NSCV) Part D. Certification will need achievement of the MAR10318 Certificate I in Maritime Operations (General Purpose Hand Near Coastal) and an Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) approved medical certification; people looking certification should assess with AMSA.
