The Master of Marketing program is an advanced degree designed for marketing professionals who are looking to enhance their marketing knowledge and skills. In unique and innovative ways, it combines contemporary marketing issues with a critical, research-based approach to learning.
Specialisation in particular aspects of marketing is a highly distinctive feature of the program. Specialist courses draw directly on the research strengths of the School, with courses on subjects such as Services Marketing Management; Relationship Marketing & CRM; Brand Management; Strategic Digital Marketing; Segmentation Analysis and Global Marketing Strategy.
The program provides a platform for high achievers to move into general management, to assume senior marketing roles or to become skilled leaders in a specialist area of marketing.

On successful completion of the Master of Marketing, students will have the ability to:

  • demonstrate and apply a broad range of marketing concepts
  • apply a range of marketing tools and techniques to address specific business situations
  • apply analytical and problem solving skills to make informed marketing decisions
  • present complex marketing issues in coherent written statements and oral presentations

The Master of Marketing comprises 72 UOC. 
Students must complete 3 core courses (6 UOC each), 1 capstone core course (6 UOC) and 8 elective courses (6 UOC each).

The core courses and the capstone course are offered on Saturdays over six (6) weeks, while the elective courses are held in the evenings during weekdays over 12 weeks. The program can be studied part time or full time.

Category A and Category B applicants may be eligible for up to 24 units of of unspecified credit transfer from the elective component of the program based on recognition of prior learning (RPL).

For the 1 year full-time (or 2 years part-time) program (with credits)

Category A - To be eligible for the program (with credits), you need to have:

  • A recognised bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) in commerce or business with a credit average as determined by the UNSW Postgraduate Coursework Entry Calculator; and
  • At least 2 years full-time relevant professional and marketing experience; and
  • Demonstrated competency in business statistics

OR

Category B - To be eligible for the program (with credits), you need to have:

  • A recognised bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification), as determined by the UNSW Business School; and
  • At least 5 years full-time relevant professional and marketing experience; and
  • Demonstrated competency in business statistics, and evidence of formal marketing training

For the 1.5 years full-time (or 3 years part-time) program (without credits)

Category C - To be eligible for the program (without credits), you need to have:

  • A recognised bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) in commerce or business with a credit average as determined by the UNSW Postgraduate Coursework Entry Calculator; and
  • A major (at least seven courses) in marketing or related discipline within the bachelor degree; and
  • At least 1 years full-time relevant work experience.

And

  • IELTS Academic version only 7.0 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest)
  • TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) 94 overall (min.25 in writing, 23 in reading, listening and speaking)
  • TOEFL Paper-based Test  (PBT) 589 overall (min. 5.0 in TWE)
