Master of Arts in Media Communications

* Prepares graduates for media positions in governmental agencies, businesses and NGOs

The core courses offer a comprehensive grounding in both theoretical and empirical approaches to the study of media texts, institutions and practices. Within your core courses choose to follow one of two tracks:

(1) global mass media

(2) international media production. Embark on your lifelong learning of media trends and technologies.

The 36 credit hours required for the MA in Media Communications degree must include the following courses (21 required credit hours).

Note: The MA in Media Communications is an academic degree, not a fine arts program, and Webster focuses on the acquisition of a firm theoretical foundation in Communications. However, Webster University Geneva has quality working studios in Audio, Video, Photography and Editing which will be accessible to Master students through workshops and course content. Masters students may also earn Certificates in Journalism, Photography, Documentary and Magazine Production (see note 8).

Admission requirements include holding an undergraduate degree from an accrediteduniversity and meeting graduate level English proficiency standards. Applicants must have either a BA in Media Communications, professional experience working in the media, or complete six credit-hours of media-related coursework.There are standard academic and English proficiency requirements for admission into the master's program: * Bachelors degree from a university with institutional accreditation. * A Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5 on a 4 point scale, or its equivalent. Results from universities that use a different grading scale will be evaluated in the context of the relevant academic system. * Proof of English language proficiency for students who have completed their studies outside of English speaking countries. * There are no entrance examinations but we ask that you provide results from the GRE, GMAT or other tests to augment your application. * You do not need to have an undergraduate degree in the field in which you are applying for a Masters degree.
