Midwifery

This system intends to prepare pupils to practise as entry-level midwives throughout the range of healthcare contexts and cultural classes. It intends to provide graduates the skills to provide direct midwifery maintenance and evaluate the impact of that maintenance, and also the ability to advocate for the ladies in their own maintenance.

The Graduate Diploma of Midwifery is accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC). Graduates of the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery may be eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Being a midwife. Professional enrollment may be subject to additional or ongoing requirements beyond completion of their education. Please contact the relevant body such as details.

• The minimum entrance requirement is successful completion of an Australian Bachelor degree in Nursing (or its equivalent)
• Applicants must have current registration as a Division 1 nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and at least a year's post-registration acute medical/surgical nursing experience. Before learning developed through relevant work experience or professional accreditation in nursing, at which it is regarded as equivalent to that obtained through a Bachelor degree, could be thought. In making an offer to an offender, the University will give consideration to a range of factors to determine whether an applicant has demonstrated the capacity to work at a post-secondary degree, including academic document, English competence, or employment experience
