This class gives an extensive program of study involving a diverse array of simulated training and fieldwork, interprofessional learning, modern mixed learning and high level clinical skill enhancement. Throughout the course there is considerable emphasis on developing important clinical skills to meet the needs of changing healthcare. A large proportion of the class involves simulated learning and practical knowledge in many different hospital and community settings and comprises the maintenance of individuals of all ages around healthy to mathematically unstable countries. Simulated practice encourages the growth of competency before fieldwork placements in a safe learning atmosphere. Clinical visits include observation visits to more prolonged periods in selected health agencies where students are awarded increasing involvement and responsibility in nursing tasks under the supervision of academic and industry staff. Pupils initiate clinical knowledge in 2nd semester, which might involve a rural placement and shift work, including night duty and weekend job. Employment is available in diverse healthcare settings including teaching hospitals; private and public hospitals; mentalhealth centers and allied healthcare (clinics, alcohol and drug centers ); community health bureaus; aged care; primary healthcare settings; medical practices with general and specialist practitioners; and defence services.
Participants, on successful conclusion of their program, are eligible to submit an application for registration as a Division 1 nurse (Registered Nurse) with the NMBA. Graduates must additionally meet NMBA compulsory registration standards, these include (but aren't confined to) Criminal Background Screening and English language Proficiency, health, conduct or performance issues.
