Nursing (Research)

The Masters Degree (Research) allows students to create their knowledge and skills in planning and executing a significant piece of original research in an area that's of interest to them and to the University, industry and the community, with the aid of an experienced research supervisory team. This degree requires students to employ an advanced body of knowledge in a range of contexts for scholarship and research and potentially as a pathway to a PhD or Professional Doctorate. It entails research study and research, through completion of a major research thesis within an approved thesis arrangement for examination, in addition to research training and separate study. Feedback is provided online and face-to-face by the supervisory team, and also co-curricular chances for receiving feedback are available through activities from which students are encouraged to engage, such as involvement in support and adjunct programs provided by the university or externally; collaborative publication of academic articles by supervisors and peers; presentation at academic conferences involving individuals organised within VU for graduate investigators and staff; along with additional demonstrations to various viewers.

• Undergraduate degree in nursing or equivalent
• Additional studies may be required, for example as advanced research areas
• Proof of professional experience and academic achievement sufficient to undertake masters level research. Besides meeting the University requirements, international applicants who will be studying in Australia must meet the English language qualifying demand of gaining an entry visa to Australia for applicants out of their country.
