Occupational Therapy Practice

This program aims to give graduates from the following area a professional qualification in occupational therapy. Occupational therapy deals with people's occupational needs and the increased increasing loss of everyday living skills that follow physical, psychological, emotional and social disorders. Occupational therapists help people to be independent and improve private productivity, health and quality of life through occupational operation. Students develop knowledge and skills in assessment and treatment, the curative utilization of occupations, intervention methods, the structure of equipment and adaptation of both environments.

The Master of Occupational Therapy Practice is accredited by the Occupational Therapy Council (Australia and New Zealand) and is approved by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists. Graduates of the Master of Occupational Therapy Exercise may be eligible to apply for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. Professional registration may be subject to additional or continuing requirements beyond finishing their education. Please contact the relevant body to get details.

• Bachelor's degree in health, education, social, psychological or biological sciences (or following postgraduate study and/or relevant work experience) is recommended, completed over the last ten years using an overall grade average of 65 percent and a minimum grade average of 70 percent in their final year of studies
• Successful applicants without prior analysis in physiology and body at a suitable level must successfully complete an La Trobe University-approved anatomy and physiology bridging class
• A Working Together With Kids check can be demanded
• NB: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee that an offer of a place
• Entrance into all La Trobe lessons is based on competitive selection and there can be limited places available.
