The MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration) programme has been developed as an accelerated route for graduates wishing to practice as chartered physiotherapists. It aims to produce graduates who are fit for purpose in terms of physiotherapy practice for now and for the future.
The programme of study addresses the main areas of contemporary physiotherapy practice, namely neuromusculoskeletal, cardiovascular and respiratory and neurorehabilitation. You will learn to think independently and problem-solve in a clinical capacity.
On successful completion of the MSc Physiotherapy (pre-registration) programme, graduates will be eligible to apply for membership of the CSP as well as registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
The content of this programme addresses the main areas of contemporary physiotherapy practice, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, pulmonary and neuromuscular therapeutics. Students also undertake modules that relate to practice development and practice innovation.
Two modules are delivered with other professions (Social Work and Occupational Therapy); these cover aspects relating to interprofessional practice that is essential to the provision of quality care.
University-based modules are interspersed with periods of practice education. Practice education is normally provided within a 30 mile radius of Glasgow. Practice placements occur in a variety of settings to ensure all students obtain a balanced level of practice exposure. Students undertake seven placements locally and one elective placement that can be outwith Scotland.
