Primary Health Care

This online program intends to provide the opportunity for health, as well as other professionals together with primary health care responsibilities to acquire wisdom and understanding of primary health care that will enable leadership within this area. It gives a focus on the data and behavior required for a key healthcare provider in a changing community environment. Key knowledge areas comprise service-delivery using primary healthcare principles, health promotion, epidemiology, health and health problems for elderly care, mental health in communities, collaborative inquiry, supporting communities and individuals in crisis, leadership and change. Opportunities will be offered for students to tackle detailed study into aspects of primary health care that are relevant to their own unique aspects of work/practice.

• Bachelor Level (AQF Level 7) in any Field
• Or 36 Months full-time equivalent work experience in the sector
• Applicants seeking admission on the basis of work experience Has to Encourage their application with an Announcement of service for all work experience listed on the application
