This program is for enrolled nurses working or planning to work in primary medical care. Students develop the specialist knowledge and skills needed to practise efficiently within complex primary health care settings. It focuses on the needs of individuals, families and communities and providing equitable and accessible health care. There is definitely an emphasis on determinants of health, community needs assessment, community participation, health promotion models, health education and health literacy and how these inform and underpin primary health care locally.
