Assessing psychology provides students with the understanding and skills to understand and explain human behavior and relationships. The Bachelor of Psychological Sciences provides meticulous study in developmental psychology, cognition, social psychology, personality, design and measurement, psychological measurement and abnormal psychology. Students complete a variety of research projects and build up skills in project management, research design and report writing. The three-year undergraduate major in psychology would be professionally licensed by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. Graduates with this degree are eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) - Graduate Entry.

  • Year 12 or equivalent
  • VCE prerequisites: Units 3 and 4: the absolute minimum study score of 25 in English (or equivalent) or 30 in English (EAL). More performance criteria and requirement requirements may also apply. English language requirements - satisfactory completion of a few of the following: Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced degree ) with overall 70%, all skills 65 percent
  • Minimum IELTS overall band of 6.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0
  • TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 7-9 with a reading ring at least 18 and writing ring at least 20
  • Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 5-8 (no real skills significantly less than 50)
  • every other equivalent assessment of English language competence. Notice: A requirement for all classes, the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) can currently be done online campus in Hawthorn.
