UPEI and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) offer both a four-year and two-year post-diploma degree in radiography. Students are eligible to apply to the four-year degree after completition of one year towards a science degree. If students already have a radiography diploma from an accredited institution and an equivalent of three years' experience, they can complete an additional 60 semester-hours (20 courses) at UPEI to fulfill the requirements for the post-diploma degree in Radiography. During the four and two-year degree programs, students complete required academic courses at UPEI and QEH. For the four-year program, clinical experience is offered in areas such as general radiography, mobile and operations room radiography, fluoroscopy, specialized contrast procedures, mammography, and computer tomography (CT scans). Upon completion of the program, students must write National Certification Exams and become members of The Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists.
