Science (Extension)

It provides students with numerous chances by value-adding with their present specialisations and bringing them up to speed knowledge and engineering, or by enlarging into different majors of interest to acquire professional and management skills. The course comprises a mandatory core of professional subjects related to all science disciplines. The subjects from the core provide a back pack of skills relevant to an expert scientist; be that they participated in research, science companies, industries or government businesses. These will be the skills of communication, critical investigation, project management and innovation and commercialisation. The professional strand is directed by a choice of major study in a particular science or math subject. Students could have the option of undertaking a small research study , subject to endorsement by the faculty. For students using appropriate achievement amounts, an chance to tackle a larger scientific study can be found by transferring into the Master of Science (Honours). For those considering a research degree, the Master of Science (Honours) provides a pathway to your PhD. The final semester of electives allows students to complement their existing skill group using tailored subjects in related disciplines across health, engineering and business. Career options vary based on the major chosen, however most of graduates have training at the professional attributes that employers search. The skills learnt extend career horizons and enhance prospects for promotion in the rapidly evolving science careers.

• Applicants should have completed an UTS approved bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional credentials that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies. The English competency requirement of international students or local applicants with international credentials is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0
